Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) Information Collection Notice

- philosophical beliefs
- membership of a professional or trade association
- membership of a trade union
- criminal record
or
- that is health information
- genetic or genomic information
- biometric information.
Information that we collect
Personal information
We may collect personal information (e.g. name, contact details) that you choose to give us, including providing personal information through mrc.wa.gov.au, It will be used for the primary purpose for which it was collected. For example, to allow us to respond to your questions or feedback

We will record the details of any email that you send us, including your IP address, when using our website pages. The message content of your email will only be viewed by the intended MRC recipient. We will not use this personal information for any other purpose.

How we store and protect personal information
Consistent with the requirements of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 and the State Records Act 2000, MRC takes all reasonable measures to protect the security of personal information.
Personal information held in our records is managed through secure record‑keeping systems designed to prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. Our IT systems are protected by appropriate technical safeguards, and paper‑based records are stored in physically secure locations. Access to personal information is strictly limited to authorised staff who require it to perform their duties.
When personal information is no longer required to be retained, we will delete or destroy it in accordance with the State Records Act 2000.
