Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is one of Western Australia’s largest waste management authorities. From our Tamala Park site, we manage the disposal of approximately 200,000 tonnes of household waste each year, principally on behalf of our member councils: the cities of Joondalup, Perth, Stirling, Vincent and Wanneroo, and the towns of Cambridge and Victoria Park.

National Tree Planting Day: Volunteers plant hundreds of new trees for Tamala Park
More than 30 volunteers from Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) and Workpower braved wet and windy conditions to plant over 250 saplings, focussing on species endemic to the area and found widely in the Tamala Park bushland.

Fire at Tamala Park sparks plea for responsible disposal of batteries
A fire broke out in a disposal bin at Tamala Park late last year after a lithium battery was placed among general waste at the site’s transfer station.

MRC notes and welcomes DWER Environmental Protection Notice
On the evening of 28 November 2024, Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) received an Environmental Protection Notice (EPN) from the WA DWER in relation to increased community concern about odours from the Tamala Park site.
MRC welcomes this, and thanks DWER for its guidance and collaboration over the past 18 months on this important issue.
