Operator / Waste Management Attendant
Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is one of Western Australia’s biggest waste management authorities, providing a comprehensive waste disposal service to local government authorities and residents in the Perth Metro Area.
About the role
Operator / Waste Management Attendant is an integral member of the operations team and contributes to MRC's objectives. This position works with a small team of employees providing services to the member councils and the general public predominantly at the Tamala Park transfer station and landfill.
Salary and benefits
Full time, permanent salary range $81 - $88k plus benefits which include:
- Adverse working allowance ($1.32 p/h)
- Weekend loading and overtime as rostered
- Up to 19% employer contribution superannuation
- Full time, 76 hours per fortnight, Monday to Sunday roster
- 22 days annual leave plus loading

Selection criteria:
Qualifications:
- Current HR driver's license
- Formal qualifications for operating hook-lift trucks, skid steer loaders, front-end loaders, dump trucks, excavators and landfill compactors.
Essential requirements:
- Developed communications skills
- Ability to work in a small team environment
- Demonstrated 3 years' experience in earthmoving, mining, roadworks or subdivision experience necessary
- Experience in set out tasks associated with earth works, including interpretation of plans
- Experience on articulated hook-lift trucks, skid steer loaders, front-end loaders, dump trucks
- Previous experience on landfill sites would be an advantage
- An understanding of appropriate work practices including WHS requirements, license provisions, equipment manuals and workplace procedures
