Communication Specialist

 

The Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is one of Western Australia’s largest waste management authorities assisting its member councils, mainly situated in Perth’s northern corridor, in managing their municipal solid waste.

 

This position is full time, working hours 76 per fortnight, salary range $94k to $105k per annum, plus other benefits of the employee industrial agreement.

Requirement of the position   

The Communications Specialist supports the Chief Executive Officer and the wider Leadership Team, in the development and implementation of all public facing documents, media statements and promotional material to support the member council’s advocacy of collaborating for a Regional Circular Economy.

 

To be successful in the position you will need to demonstrate

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and or demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, media, journalism and or public relations.
  • Experience in the development of media relations and communication material.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for crafting media releases, speech notes, website updates, newsletters and print material.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a self-directed manner and manage time effectively.

 

The successful applicant will be required to undertake medical examinations prior to employment and would undergo a three-month probationary period.
