Heavy Duty Fitter
Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is one of Western Australia’s biggest waste management authorities, providing a comprehensive waste disposal service to local government authorities and residents in the Perth Metro Area.
The role
Heavy Duty Fitter is an integral member of the operations team and contributes to the MRC objectives. This position assists the Workshop Supervisor carry out proactive servicing and maintenance of all Councils plant and equipment in accordance with current best practice standards and statutory requirements.
Salary and benefits
Full time permanent, salary $93,287 depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant plus benefits that include:
- Up to 18% Employer contribution Superannuation.
- Full time, 76 hours per fortnight.

Selection Criteria
Qualifications: Trade Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics
Essential requirements
- Extensive heavy duty plant experience
- Experience maintaining Light vehicles
- Ability to repair and maintain a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
- Ability to operate required tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply technical information, policies, and procedures of legislative requirements.
- Ability to prioritise workloads within tight timelines.
- Developed communications and customer service skills
- Sound knowledge of procedures for the repair and maintenance of wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
- Sound knowledge of mobile and stationary preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and programs
- Sound knowledge of the practical application of Work Health & Safey in a mechanical work environment.
- Working knowledge of maintenance management software relevant to workshop application.
Desirable requirements
- General maintenance understanding of diaphragm pumps/setups
- HR Licence
- Forklift Licence
