Tours

WE OFFER TOURS TO TAMALA PARK, EDUCATION CENTRE & THE RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY AT NEERABUP - STOP OFF AT THE REUSE SHOP TO GRAB A BARGAIN!

Tours to Tamala Park, Education Centre and the Resource Recovery Facility are free and available to school groups, businesses, service organisations and individuals with a keen interest in learning more about the MRC’s operations and waste management issues generally.

The aim of the tours is to not only show the MRC facilities and the work the MRC does, but to also educate the community about the waste hierarchy and the impact they can have on improving waste outcomes. This includes educating the community on the importance of producing less waste; placing things in the right bin and how to best manage problematic waste streams, ones that don’t go in any bin.

When do tours take place?
  • The MRC conduct regular tours of its facilities usually on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • Tour times are flexible although the sites are at their most active in the mornings and early afternoon.
  • This year tours will also be run on the last Saturday morning of the month (Feb-Nov).

What do I need?

  • Tours are free of charge. However large groups (7+ people) who wish to tour Tamala Park will need to bring their own bus, with a working microphone.  Bus subsidies are available for groups from within our region. To find out more about the bus subsidies click here.
  • Small groups (4 to 7 people) can be accommodated in MRC’s people mover vehicle.
  • Small groups (4 people) or individuals can join a tour held on the last Saturday morning of each month.

Special personal protective equipment (PPE) is not required (but is provided if needed). However enclosed shoes are recommended.
