Waste Wise Schools program

Important Update: In light of the COVID-19 virus outbreak, as a precautionary measure we are postponing our waste education activities until further notice. This includes our visits to schools, community groups and businesses; tours of Tamala Park and our Resource Recovery Facility; and our Earth Carers program. This is in line with State and Federal advice to limit non-essential gatherings in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

Is your school a Waste Wise school or would you like to be one?
The Waste Wise Schools program is run by the Waste Authority and provides support to schools across Western Australia to promote better waste management practices and behaviours, with a focus on waste avoidance and recovery. To become a Waste Wise School you need to be accredited.
The Mindarie Regional Council can assist with your accreditation by conducting a free waste audit at your school. If you are already a Waste Wise School, this audit can also be conducted regularly to measure your school’s improvement over time. We will submit the results from this audit to Waste Wise Schools on your behalf.
Please contact the MRC Waste Education team to discuss and book in the audit.
