Waste Disposal & Recycling

Due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic we are no longer able to accept household goods for free through our drop off area (for example: furniture, bric-a-brac, kitchenware, sporting goods, toys, etc). Household goods may go over the weighbridge for a fee.

If the items are in reasonable condition and you are unable to find a new home for them, rather than dispose of them, we suggest you hold on to them until such time as we are able to accept them again. Together we can still help keep items out of landfill!
The rest of our site remains open for Disposal.

Waste management is changing.  Although landfilling is still seen as an important part of the industry, the focus is moving toward resource recovery and other activities that minimise waste.  The goal is to treat waste and offer solutions as high up the waste hierarchy as practicable.

The Mindarie Regional Council's vision of 'Winning Back Waste' focuses the organisation on achieving improved waste outcomes for the region, which focus on:
  • Reducing the amount of waste being generated
  • Increasing resource recovery
  • Diversion from landfill

The Mindarie Regional Council is actively engaged in supporting its community to learn more, to change attitudes and behaviours, and being more effective to manage household waste.
