A Little Green Frog Comes to Help

The green frog will appear as part of the MRC and Member Councils' Waste Education Program.

Residents will see the green frog on the MRC website and publications, at Member Council waste education events and activities, and potentially even on the side of Council waste collection trucks and household waste bins. The MRC has also developed a new corporate logo and has adopted the corporate slogan of Mindarie Regional Council – reducing, reusing, recycling.

The green frog is a reminder to people to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Frogs are barometers of environmental health and they are a reminder to us that every action we take to reduce waste to landfill, to reuse rather than throw away, and to recycle is an action to reduce the environmental impact of waste and to maintain our community resources for future generations.

The re-branding initiative is one of the first actions of the Waste Education Strategy Steering Group.

Established late last year, the group comprises representatives from the MRC's seven Member Councils, and discusses ways to work together across the region to build strong community awareness and participation in better waste management. Linc Integrated undertook the re-branding project.
