Services Provided by MRC

The MRC, WA's largest waste management authority, manages the disposal of about 350,000 tonnes of waste generated each year by people living in its seven government localities.

In 2009, the business changed significantly with the introduction of resource recovery which converts household waste to compost, reducing by 20% the region's annual amount of waste going to landfill.

The MRC's services include:

Landfill operations at Tamala Park;
Resource Recovery Facility at Neerabup;
Transfer station;
Refuse and Recycling;
Free firewood; and
Household hazardous waste disposal.

Administration Office Open: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

Transfer Station Open: (For Disposal of Household Rubbish)
7 days a week from 8.00am to 4.45pm including public holidays (except Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day).

Tamala Park Recycling Centre Open:

Drop off of second hand goods and recyclables now 7 days
Sales and shop access Friday to Monday (4 days only)
Public opening hours: 8.00am to 4.45pm (Except Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day).
