Plastic Free July

Start making changes to your shopping habits and plan how you will live plastic free this July.

What is Plastic Free July?
Plastic Free July is an annual campaign to create an awareness of the environmental problems associated with plastics, in particular single use plastic products. Plastic bags, plastic drinking straws, plastic wrap, disposable plastic plates and cups are just some of the many products we use only once and throw away…what a waste. Plastic Free July aims to encourage us to look at the way we consume and maybe see where we can reduce our consumption of single-use plastics.

Started in Cottesloe by the WMRC Earth Carers in 2011, the challenge has now spread to over 4,000 people around the world.

What can I do?
By remembering your own shopping bags, filling your water bottle and grabbing a reusable cup as you head out the door each day, you can be part of this change and make a difference to the environment. The challenge can be as individuals, families or work place groups, it all creates an interesting and fun month of awareness.
