City of Perth Plastic Free July Workshop's

Australians use around 100kg of plastic packing per household each year. Although plastic waste is made on land it often leads to problems downstream in the ocean. In fact, it is estimated if we continue what we are doing that there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050.

Plastic Free July Foundation is calling for Australians to collectively address one of the world’s greatest environmental challenges. The City of Perth is continuing to work with residents and ratepayers to reduce recyclable and reusable material going to landfill and avoid the use of single-use plastics.

In collaboration with the state's largest waste management authority, Mindarie Regional Council, the City is holding three free workshops at Perth City Library to support and prepare for Plastic Free July.

Come along to hear about reducing our waste in everyday ways, particularly plastic waste. You can make and take home with you samples of 3 products all from things in your kitchen cupboard.
